Inside the Creative Mind

Recently, Rock & Hardware was given the opportunity to gift one of our bracelet sets to the wardrobe stylist of a top television show. What do you design that will grab the stylist's attention? My first thought in regards to color was to go towards the black/red/purple hues which are seen a lot on this particular show. But I started second guessing myself that it seemed too obvious a color choice and I wanted to veer towards something different, more mysterious.

I was fortunate to go to a local gem show and stumbled across some gorgeous sapphire and pyrite beads. They were dark blue with cool veining throughout and evoked that mysterious feeling I was searching for. These became my inspiration. I knew I wanted to do a beaded bracelet stack as opposed to a single strand. So the search was on to find more beads to compliment the ones I just found. I ended up selecting some beautiful midnight blue tiger eye chunks, some deep blue faceted glass beads, caramel-colored Czech glass disc beads with a hint of teal, some cool African oxidized brass beads, a strand of small pyrite chunks, some pearl glass beads and added in an ebony zebra wood focal bead to complete the set.

Voilà! The beaded bracelet set above was my final creation! I love the design of this bracelet stack and it is everything I had envisioned. Crossing my fingers that the wardrobe stylist agrees!
